CPSC, BCI Burke Announce Recall of Buckle Bridges on Series 2000 Playgrounds

PRODUCT: Buckle Bridges - BCI Burke Company, of Fond du Lac, Wis., is recalling 46 Buckle Bridges for repair. These bridges are attached to steel platforms on Series 2000 modular playgrounds. The bridges are made of hinged metal sections and connect one platform to another. BCI Burke sold the Buckle Bridges with the Series 2000 modular playgrounds nationwide from April 2001 to June 2002 for between $2000 and $2900.

PROBLEM: The platform edge, where the bridges are attached, can crack and the bridge could potentially detach from the platform and result in injuries.

INCIDENTS/INJURIES: None reported.

WHAT TO DO: Consumers should stop using the bridges immediately and call BCI Burke at (800) 266-1250 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday to receive a retrofit kit. Visit the BCI Burke web www.bciburke.com for more information. BCI Burke sent notices to receive a free repair to 46 known purchasers.
