WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of product: Hooded Fleece Sweatshirts

Units: About 2,200

Distributor: MM Compound LLC (also known as Metal Mulisha Clothing), of Irvine, Calif.

Hazard: The sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets or sweatshirts.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The boys hooded fleece sweatshirts have style number M47610315 and style name "ID" printed along with the RN# 120953 located on the country of origin and care label sewn in the center back neck and were sold in sizes S-XL. The sweatshirts were sold in two colors - black and white.

Sold at: The retailers listed below sold these products nationwide from August 2007 through November 2007 for about $50.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to either the place of purchase or to MM Compound for a full refund.
