Staff from the CPSC and the European Commission Directorate for Justice and Consumers will conduct a training seminar on designing consumer products to prevent mechanical hazards. The one-day, free program will take place in the Park Hyatt Hotel, Guangzhou, China, 9:00am-5:00pm.  The target audience includes designers, manufacturers, and testing professionals who deal with consumer products sold in the United States and European Union.  Government and industry experts will discuss key mechanical safety requirements, common mistakes, and areas for more careful consideration.  Experienced testing and conformity assessment professionals will add their insights as speakers and panelists during the training program.

CPSC staff will conduct a testing industry forum and training day on conformity assessment of children’s products.  The one-day, free program will take place in the Park Hyatt Hotel, Guangzhou, China, 8:00am-4:00pm. The event is open to laboratories participating in the CPSC’s Third Party Testing Program, as well as laboratories interested in applying to the program.

The program will begin with an interactive format that will allow for feedback from the testing industry based on its experience with conformity assessment to CPSC requirements.  Staff will also answer specific questions submitted by attendees.  CPSC staff then will provide training on critical areas of testing and cover accreditation issues that are of special concern to the CPSC. Experienced manufacturing and retail product safety professionals will add their insights as panelists during the training program.

Online registration will be required with priority seating reserved for laboratories.
