WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using Wisekiddy Multi-Purpose Helmets. The helmets violate the impact attenuation, positional stability, certification, and labeling requirements of the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. The helmets can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash, posing a deadly risk of head injury.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Guangzhoushi Aiselun Keji Youxiangongsi, of China, doing business as Wisekiddy. Wisekiddy has not agreed to recall these helmets or offer a remedy to consumers.
About 19,100 of the multi-purpose bike helmets were sold online at Amazon from October 2023 through April 2025 for between $27 and $35. The helmets were sold in sizes: small, fitting a head circumference of 18.9 inches to 21.3 inches, and medium, fitting a head circumference of 21.3 inches to 22.8 inches. The helmets have a combined pink and purple color scheme, with black padding, black straps, and a black and red buckle. The helmets have a red plastic knob at the back of the helmet to adjust the fit. The size small helmets have the following model numbers printed on a label located inside of the helmets: HW0023-TIE-PIN, HW0023-TIE-BLA, HW0023-TIE-WHI, HW0022-CO-ZL, HW0022-CO-CH, 1906-005-S, 1906-020-S, 1906-034-S, 1906-035-S, and 1906-036-S. The size medium helmets have the following model numbers printed on a label located inside of the helmets: HW0023-TIE-PIN-M, HW0023-TIE-BLA-M, HW0023-TIE-WHI-M, HW0022-CO-ZLM, HW0022-CO-CH-M, 1906-005-M, 1906-020-M, 1906-034-M, 1906-035-M, and 1906-036-M. CPSC is aware that the helmets were also sold in other color schemes including black, blue, pink, purple, pink/yellow/blue, pink/blue/yellow, purple/blue, and rainbow.
These products were manufactured in China.
