Hazard:

There have been incidents where users have entrapped or pinched a portion of a finger in the bracket mechanism, resulting in severed fingertips or severe lacerations.

Remedy:

The firm is out of business and a remedy is no longer available. Consumers should discard or destroy the product to prevent injuries.

The recalled rattles failed to meet the mandatory standard for rattles and may pose a choking hazard to young children.

Remedy:

Consumers having any of the rattles should immediately take them away from children and return them to the nearest Toys-R-Us store for a refund of the full purchase price.

Hazard:

An antenna piece may separate from the toy telephone receiver and cause a potential choking hazard for young children.

Remedy:

Parents having model #1808-0 "Pop Up Answer Phone" not marked with a red dot should immediately take the toy away from young children and return it to the store where purchased for a refund of the full purchase price, or mail the toy to Larami Corporation, 340 North 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

Hazard:

The buckles and loops of the gym are small enough to be ingested by an infant. In addition, the mirrored rattle may break into small parts and may present a potential choking hazard if it comes off the strap.

Remedy:

Consumers having a gym set with plastic or unstitched fabric straps holding the figures and rattle to the crossbar should immediately take the toys away from infants and toddlers and request replacement straps, buckles, and rattles by writing to the Consumer Service Department, Illco Toy Company, 200 Fifth Avenue, New York, New York 10010.

Hazard:

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC), the lid may be ejected from the canister with enough force to cause injury.

Remedy:

Consumers should stop using the affected paint rollers and call Wagner toll-free at 1-800-365-7650, or write Wagner Spray Tech Corporation, 1770 Fernbrook Lane, Minneapolis, MN 55447 for a free repair kit. The company will provide two replacement seal rings for the pressure canister, a warning label to be affixed to the lid, and new operating instructions.

Although no electric shock incidents have been reported by Challenger, the firm recalled this product because it has determined, by quality control testing, that a mechanical part may become detached and prevent the ground fault feature of the circuit breaker from functioning.

Remedy:

Consumers who believe that they have installed HAGF circuit breakers requiring replacement should contact a licensed electrician to perform this work. Power to the panel should be shut off before inspecting and removing breakers.) The company is no longer able to be contacted at the phone numbers provided in the original press release.

Speed Queen Company of Ripon, Wisconsin, is voluntarily offering a retrofit program for its caster-equipped Contempo Stack combination washer-dryer to eliminate the possibility that consumers could receive a hand or foot injury from the appliance when operating.

Remedy:

Consumers having the Speed Queen Contempo Mate tack washer-dryer with casters should call Speed Queen toll-free at 1-800-543-3462 to obtain the free guard kit, obtain help in installing the guard, or for other information about the retrofit program.

Hazard:

Some of the circuit-breaker boxes were manufactured using components of an incorrect material, which could cause overheating and malfunction.

Remedy:

Anyone locating such a load center which does not have an "inspected lugs" sticker should call Siemens at 1-800-241-3138 to arrange for free professional inspection of the unit. If the wiring diagram label has an "inspected lugs" stamp, the load center has already been inspected and corrected if necessary.
