The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Various containers used in instructional kits

Units: About 1,000

Importer: Montessori N' Such, of Sterling, Va.

Hazard: Surface paints on the products contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The recalled metal containers are instructional materials for use in the classroom. The item number is printed on the product's packaging. The recall includes only the colors and item numbers listed below:

Sold by: Montessori N' Such through its catalog and Web site to schools and individuals nationwide from July 2006 through January 2009 for between $2.50 and $7 per item.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled products away from children and contact Montessori N' Such for a free replacement or refund. All known purchasers have been contacted.
