WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Note: SunTome Trading Corp. originally recalled these baby walkers on July 20, 2001.
Name of Product: Baby Walker
Units: About 600
Manufacturer: SunTome Trading Corp., of Los Angeles, Calif.
Hazard: The walkers can fit through a standard doorway and are not designed to stop at the edge of a step. Babies using these walkers can be seriously injured or killed.
Incidents/Injuries: No injuries or incidents have been reported.
Description: The recalled walkers have eight wheels and are sold in various colors including dark blue, pink and white, or pink and red. The activity trays on the baby walkers have a steering wheel, various rattles and a mirror or animal themes. The trays play music when the baby pushes a button. "Baby" is printed on a sticker on the tray or the walker's base.
Sold at: Retail toy stores nationwide from March 2001 through January 2006 for about $20.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled walkers immediately and return the walkers to the retailer where purchased for a full refund.
