WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of product: Electric Pictures (Moveable Waterfall Pictures)

Units: 3,500

Importer: Chicago Wholesale & Imports, of Bridgeview, Ill.

Hazard: These pictures have inadequate construction, incorrect wiring, and use flammable materials, all of which pose fire and electric shock hazards to consumers.

Incidents: Chicago Wholesale & Imports has not received any reports of incidents. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries.

Description: The recalled electric pictures are framed artwork that utilizes electric lights and sound and feature moving background scenes, including waterfalls and beach scenes. The paintings come with wooden, glass mirror, or plastic frames. The pictures come in seven different sizes: 180cm x 112cm, 148cm x 98cm, 118cm x 74cm, 98cm x 48cm, 65cm x 45cm, 26cm x 20cm, and 25cm x 25cm.

Sold at: Flea markets and dollar stores in the Midwest, primarily in the Chicago area, sold the pictures from April 2003 through April 2004 for between $20 and $150 (depending on the size).

Manufactured in: China.

Remedy: Consumer should stop using the electrical components to the pictures immediately and return them to Chicago Wholesale & Imports for a refund.
