The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Candle Gift Sets

Units: 50,600

Manufacturer: Polardreams International Ltd., of Fairfield, Iowa

Hazard: The candle gift set can exhibit a larger-than-normal flame height as the tealight candle burns to the end, posing a potential fire hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: One report has been received of a consumer receiving a minor burn from the candle wax.

Description: This candle gift set includes two candle lamps and eight tealight candles. The lamps are approximately 3.5-inches high and have a warning label on the bottom with Polardreams' name and address. These sets were sold in three different fragrance combinations.

Sold At: BJ's Wholesale Clubs from August 24, 2003 through October 30, 2003 for $9.99.

Manufactured In: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these candle gift sets immediately and discard them. The firm is out of business and a remedy is therefore no longer available.picture of recalled candles
