Recall Details
WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), LaJobi Industries Inc., of Edison, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 400 "Molly" and "Betsy" style wooden cribs. These cribs have cut-outs in the end panels that allow young children to get their heads entrapped, resulting in strangulation. The cribs fail to meet CPSC's standards.
LaJobi has not received any reports of injuries involving these cribs but in the past there have been deaths reported in other firms' cribs with end panel cut-outs. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.
Both cribs have openings on each end panel. The end panels on the "Molly" style cribs are made of solid wood with openings on both sides. The end panels on the "Betsy" style cribs are constructed with wood slats. The model numbers are printed inside the headboard at the bottom.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury or death associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products has contributed to a decline in the rate of injuries associated with consumer products over the past 50 years.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
