The company acknowledged having received 76 reports from consumers about model #8900 and #8901 dolls where the eyes had come off. More that 100,000 of these dolls were sold nationwide since July 1987 for $18-$30.
Consumers are urged to take the dolls away from young children and return the dolls either to the place of purchase or to Tonka Products, Attention: Department K, 2950 Robertson Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45209, for a full refund of the purchase price. To obtain a prepaid mailing label or for more information, consumers may call the company toll-free at 1-800-548-7262 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
