Kristen Talcott is Participating in a Meeting with the ASTM F15.42 Furniture Task Group on Tip Over Testing
Kristen Talcott of Engineering Sciences and other CPSC staff are participating virtually in a meeting with the ASTM F15.42 (Furniture) Task Group on items related to new proposed stability requirements for the clothing storage units voluntary standard (ASTM F2057). The meeting will include discussion of proposed changes, including: adding filled (weighted) drawers to the Stability of Unloaded Unit test (Section 7.1), increasing the test weight from 50 pounds to 60 pounds in the Stability with Load test (Section 7.2), and creating a new pull test. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 8:00am to 4:00pm EST. This meeting was requested by ASTM. For additional information, contact Kristen Talcott, ktalcott@cpsc.gov.
