Statement of Commissioner Peter A. Feldman on New Addition to Senior Staff

March 25, 2024

Peter A. Feldman, Commissioner of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), today announced a new addition to his senior staff.  The Honorable Henry J. Kerner joined Commissioner Feldman’s staff on March 25 as Chief Counsel.  Mr. Kerner most recently served as the Special Counsel in the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal investigative and prosecutorial agency charged with protecting federal employees from prohibited personnel practices, especially reprisal for whistleblowing.

“Henry’s wide-ranging legal experience and expertise will be a great benefit to advancing CPSC’s safety mission,” said Feldman.  “I am excited to have him join my office.”

Mr. Kerner graduated from UCLA and Harvard Law School and spent 18 years working as a prosecutor in California.  He later worked as a staff member of the House Oversight Committee, where he led investigations of the federal bureaucracy and fought on behalf of whistleblowers to protect American taxpayers.
