I extend my warmest congratulations to Karen Sessions and Brien Lorenze on their confirmation by the United States Senate to serve as Commissioners of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Their arrival comes at an important and exciting moment for CPSC. As the agency enters a new era of constitutional accountability under President Trump’s leadership, CPSC is delivering record-setting enforcement results, making critical advances in technology and operations, and renewing its focus on its core mission of protecting American families from dangerous consumer products. Their confirmation will restore a quorum and position the Commission to build on the momentum it has achieved during President Trump’s historic second term.

Having worked closely with Brien during his service as CPSC’s Executive Director, I know firsthand the operational judgment, policy expertise, and results-driven approach he brings to the Commission.

Karen brings an impressive record of leadership across the public and private sectors, together with substantial experience in technology, infrastructure, and regulatory policy. Her breadth of experience will add valuable perspective and strengthen the Commission’s work.
