Robert Howell and other CPSC Staff Meeting with the Consumer Specialty Products Association (Meeting Cancelled by Request of CSPA)
Robert Howell, Deputy Executive Director, Safety Operations; Marc Schoem, Acting Director of Compliance and Field Operations (EXC); Howard Tarnoff, Senior Counselor to the Director, EXC; Mary Toro, Director of Regulatory Enforcement, EXC; and other CPSC staff, will be meeting with Tim Brown, Phil Klein, and Beth Law, of Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA); Robert Skoglund, 3M; Ebenezer Barimo, The Scotts Company; Adam Selisker, CRC Industries; Michael Buczynski, Church and Dwight; and other association members to discuss specific labeling requirements for consumer products of interest to CSPA members and the potential impact from OSHA’s recently issued HazCom rule. This meeting is open to the public. Interested members of the public may also listen to the discussion via teleconference. Members of the public will not have the opportunity to ask questions, comment, or otherwise participate in the meeting. Neal S. Cohen (Small Business Ombudsman) speaking to any interested small business in the metropolitan Raleigh, NC region at 1 pm EST. The presentation will be an overview of U.S. regulatory requirements for consumer products (including children’s products) and will also explain the requirements and benefits of registering as a small batch manufacturer with CPSC. Presentation is free and open to the public. The presentation was initiated by the CPSC’s Office of Education, Global Outreach, and Small Business Ombudsman. The presentation will take place in Conference Room 209 at the Terry Sanford Federal Building and US Courthouse at 310 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC. Please bring a photo ID for security purposes, and allow time to pass through security and arrive to the to the 2nd floor. There is a café in the secure area of the building.
