Welcome to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Podcast for November 13th, 2006.

In recall news, Spin Master Toys recalled about 46,000 Helix, Remote Control, Micro Helicopters. The power supply controller used with these toys can overheat.

Spin Master has received 11 reports of the toy overheating, including two fires and one report of a consumer receiving minor skin burns.

The recalled remote control toy helicopters measure 7 inches from end-to-end. They were sold from July 2006 through early November 2006 for about $100.

Stop using the recalled toy helicopters and contact Spin Master at (800) 622-8339 to receive a free replacement product.

In other recall news, Gund Inc. recalled 18,900 Baby Gund Woodles Activity Toys.

The wooden rings on the stuffed toy can break, posing a small parts choking hazard to young children.

Gund has received four reports from consumers about the wooden rings on the toys breaking, including one report of a child mouthing small pieces. No injuries were reported.

The toy consists of a soft, stuffed body with a rattle inside the body, and two smooth wooden rings attached to loops at the end of each arm. The product is available in four different styles: a Lion, Giraffe, Horse and Cow.

They were sold by independent specialty toy stores nationwide for about $12.

And finally this week, Delta Enterprise Corp. recalled about 3,000 Cars Toy Storage Benches. The wooden toy box has pictures covering it from the animated movie, Cars.

The red paint on the partition panels of the toy box contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. No injuries have been reported.

The toy chests were sold at Toys “R” Us stores for about $50.

Return the recalled chest to any Toys “R” Us for a credit or refund.
