This week, in cooperation with CPSC, Hunter Fan Company recalled about 29,000 Warm Mist CareFree® Humidifiers.
Water from the humidifier can leak into the unit’s electrical compartment posing a fire hazard.

These hair dryers are not equipped with an immersion protection plug to prevent electrocution if the hair dryer falls into water. Such electric shock protection devices are required by industry standards for all electric hand-held hair dryers.
No incidents or injuries have been reported.
The recall involves two models of pistol-type hair dryers: The Monica model hair dryer has its model name and number, SW-117, written on the handle. It is made of black plastic and chrome, and the handle folds up. The Turbo 1200 model has model number DS-507 written on the back of the handle. The model name is written on the blower nozzle. They are green and white.
They were sold at independent discount stores nationwide from April 2004 through June 2005 for between $3 and $5.
Consumers should stop using these hair dryers, and contact Style Tronics Inc. for a full refund. For more information, call Style Tronics Inc. toll-free at (888) 266-9272.
And finally this week, IKEA Home Furnishings is voluntarily recalling about 100,000 LYCKSELE Chair Beds and Sofa Beds.
Fingers can become caught in the folding mechanism of the chair bed/sofa bed, posing a laceration and/or amputation hazard.
IKEA has received one report of a finger tip amputation when a consumer was attempting to operate the folding mechanism of one of these beds.
This recall involves LYCKSELE chair beds and sofa beds produced before July 2005 and date stamped 0526 and earlier. The frames are constructed of iron and have natural wood slats. IKEA and the four digit date stamp are printed on a white sticker located on the underside of the product.
They were sold at IKEA stores nationwide and on the Ikea Web site from April 1999 through June 2006 for $40 for the chair bed and $90 for the sofa bed.
Consumers with one of these beds with a missing folding mechanism safety cover should call or visit their local IKEA store to receive free safety covers which fit over the folding mechanism to prevent finger access. For more information, consumers can call IKEA at (888) 966-4532 anytime.
