Hotel and Motel Crib Safety
Many traveling families use cribs and play yards provided by motels and hotels. CPSC and the National SAFE KIDS Campaign announced a crib and play yard safety campaign in February 2000 to keep children safe when they travel.
Here is a safety checklist (English, Spanish) that can be used by hotel and motel staff as well as consumers to ensure that cribs and play yards at hotels or motels -- or anywhere else children use these products when families are traveling -- are not hazardous. Hotel and motel managers are encouraged to download the checklists and include them in their manuals of standard operating procedures.
