Since 2004, CPSC has worked directly with Chinese stakeholders to improve the safety of consumer products exported to the United States. These efforts include regular contact with Chinese government authorities through our Beijing office, as well as education and outreach programs to the entire supply chain in China. We also provide training and guidance to Chinese manufacturers, exporters, and buyers, through in-person training, live webinars, and Web-based Chinese language materials that provide information on U.S. requirements for consumer products.
CPSC’s China Program has created a Chinese language website, where we post translated materials of U.S. legislation, regulation, guidelines and other advisories on U.S. safety requirements for consumer products. Among these materials is the China Product Hazard Monthly Summary Bulletin, containing CPSC recalls of Chinese products for every month since May 2008. This page is available in both Chinese and English.
In January 2011, CPSC established its Regional Product Safety Office in Beijing to better promote compliance with U.S. product safety requirements among buyers and exporters and coordinate more closely with product safety regulators in the East Asia Pacific region.
