Recall Details
This recall involves 14 ounce, white ceramic coffee mugs with "Love Today" printed in gold metallic on the outside of mug. "Microwave Safe" and "Illume" are printed on a removable label on the bottom of the mug.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mugs and return them to Target for a full refund. Consumers can also contact Illume for return instructions and a full refund.
Target has received three reports of mugs sparking during microwaving. No injuries have been reported.

If microwaved or filled with extremely hot liquid, the mugs can overheat or break, posing burn and laceration hazards.
The pot handle can detach or become loose, posing burn and scald risks to consumers from hot food and liquids spilling from the product.
The bottom exterior of the recalled stainless-steel cups contains an accessible solder bead with levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. In addition, the lid can crack and break during use producing sharp edges and small parts, posing choking and laceration hazards to children.
The ceramic mugs are mislabeled as microwave safe. If microwaved, the metallic print on the mug can spark, posing a fire hazard.
The insulation coating on the stove can ignite during use, posing a fire hazard.
The recalled children’s bamboo plates have elevated levels of lead and formaldehyde. Both lead and formaldehyde are toxic if ingested by children and can cause adverse health effects.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury or death associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products has contributed to a decline in the rate of injuries associated with consumer products over the past 50 years.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
