The following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Turbo Tiger Power Washer

Units: 1,000

Importer: Tristar Products Inc., of Fairfield, N.J.

Manufacturer: Zhejiang Anlu Cleaning Machinery Co. Ltd., of China

Hazard: These electric pressure washers do not have a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) on the power cord, which poses a serious electrocution hazard if the unit comes into contact with water.

Incidents/Injuries: None

Description: The recalled electric pressure washers are yellow with a black three-prong power cord. A label on the front reads "Turbo Tiger Power Washer."

Sold by: Tristar Products Inc. through direct-response television commercials shown nationwide, as well as on Tristar's Web site www.tvinventions.com. They were sold between June 2002 and June 2003 for about $190, including shipping and handling. Turbo Tiger units sold through The Home Shopping Network or other sources that already have a GFCI at the end of the power cord are not included in this recall.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the electric pressure washers immediately. Tristar will send consumers a portable GFCI that can be attached to the end of the power cord, which will provide consumers with shock protection. If you purchased your pressure washer from a pre- recorded television commercial or www.tvinventions.com and you have not received the portable GFCI, please contact Tristar to receive a GFCI.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Homelite Consumer Products Inc., of Anderson, S.C., is voluntarily recalling about 40,000 (in the United States) and 1,200 (in Canada) Homelite surface cleaner attachments. The surface cleaner attachment's nozzle and spray bar can break and detach, striking and/or breaking the unit's plastic housing. The broken nozzle, spray bar and/or plastic housing can strike consumers, posing a laceration hazard.

Pressure Washers and Air Compressors Recalled By DeVilbiss Due to Fracture and Laceration Hazards
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), DeVilbiss Air Power Company, of Jackson, Tenn., is voluntarily recalling about 620,000 pressure washers and 72,000 air compressors. The pressure washers and air compressors have pneumatic tires with plastic hubs that can burst, posing a laceration or fracture hazard to consumers.
