The following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Kiddie Car Cruisers

Units: About 500

Manufacturer/Importer: Far East Brokers and Consultants Inc. (FEBC), of Jacksonville, Fla.

Hazard: The Kiddie Car Cruiser can continue to run when the accelerator is no longer depressed, which could result in the rider losing control of the car.

Incidents/Injuries: FEBC has received 10 reports of the Kiddie Car Cruiser continuing to run when the accelerator was not depressed. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The Kiddie Car Cruiser is a battery-operated ride-on toy car that measures about 27 inches high by 30 inches wide and 44 inches long. "Turbo" and "Cruiser" are printed on labels on the side of the ride-on toys.

Sold at: Big Y Stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut from May 6 to May 13, 2004 for about $100 with a Big Y Express savings card and about $300 without a savings card.

Manufactured In: China.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled car immediately and return it to a Big Y store to receive a refund.
