This press release consists of three recalls. Please choose the appropriate recall below.

- Electric Meter Boxes - Square D Co., of Palatine, Ill., is recalling about 12,200 CSEDs, which are metal boxes mounted on the outside of homes and contain the electric meter and the main electrical breaker panel. When these CSEDs are installed and electrical power supplied, electrical arcing can occur, posing a risk of shock, electrocution and electric burn.

- Trouble Lights - Primerica Enterprise, of Deer Park N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 1,500 trouble lights. The lights have undersized wires, and other internal defects presenting fire, shock and electrocution hazards.

- Power Strip Surge Protectors - Kingsland Tools Inc., of Bell, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 3,900 power strip surge protectors. The power strips have cracked, corroded and loose wires, presenting fire, shock and electrocution hazards.

Xantrex GT Series Inverter
Schneider Electric Recalls Xantrex GT Series Grid Tie Solar Inverters Due to Injury Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Xantrex Technology Inc. - a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, of Livermore, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 25,000 Xantrex Grid Tie Solar Inverters. A component of the inverter can degrade, causing out gassing within the wiring compartment of the inverter. When arcing occurs, gasses could build and force the compartment cover to be blown off. If the cover is blown off with sufficient force it can injure the user or person, or cause damage to property in close proximity to the inverter.

Electrical Wire Recalled by Cerro Wire due to Fire Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Cerro Wire Inc., of Crothersville, Ind., is voluntarily recalling about 1,000 rolls of THHN Electrical Wire. While the actual electrical wire has "14 gauge" printed on it, the packaging incorrectly labels the electrical wire as 12 gauge. If used as a 12 gauge wire, it can overload, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Faulty Instructions Prompt Recall of Electrical Wiring How-to-Books by The Taunton Press; Shock Hazard to Consumers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), The Taunton Press, of Newtown, Conn., is voluntarily recalling about 64,000 Wiring a House, 3rd Edition and Wiring Complete, Expert Advice from Start to Finish Instructional Books. The books contain several errors in the technical diagrams that could lead consumers to incorrectly install or repair electrical wiring, posing an electrical shock hazard to consumers.

Gardner Bender Recalls Electrical Wire Splices Due to Shock and Fire Hazards
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Gardner Bender, of Milwaukee, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 53,000 Electrical Wire Splices (also known as Butt Splice Connectors). When crimped, the splice can fail to hold the wires adequately together, posing a shock and fire hazard to consumers.
