bullet West Elm Recalls Dover Dining Table Due to Injury Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, West Elm, a division of Williams-Sonoma, Inc., of San Francisco, is voluntarily recalling about 830 (in the United States) and 10 (in Canada) Dover Dining Tables. The wooden base of the table can collapse, causing the glass table top to fall. This poses an injury hazard to consumers.
bullet Madeline Bed Canopy Recalled by Pottery Barn Kids Due to Impact Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Pottery Barn Kids, a division of Williams-Sonoma Inc., of San Francisco, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 7,700 (in the United States) and 230 (in Canada) Bed Canopies. The connections of the posts to the top rails of the canopy can come apart, allowing components of the canopy to fall and posing an impact hazard to consumers.
bullet Navien Recalls Tankless Water Heaters Due to Risk of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Navien America Inc., of Irvine, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 13,000 Navien Instantaneous or Tankless Water Heaters. An unstable connection can cause the water heater’s vent collar to separate or detach if pressure is applied. A detached vent collar poses a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning to the consumer.
bullet CPSC Launches Registry for Small Batch Children’s Product Manufacturers
Today, CPSC is launching an easy-to-use registry for small batch manufacturers, which can be found at www.SaferProducts.gov. Congress directed CPSC to establish this registry for small batch manufacturers in Public Law 112-28, which was signed into law by President Obama on August 12, 2011.
bullet CPSC Reinforces Children’s Sleepwear and Loungewear Enforcement Policy to Apparel Industry; Agency standards designed to prevent burn injuries to children
In an effort to remind the industry of their obligations associated with children’s sleepwear and loungewear, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC’s) Director of Compliance and Field Operations sent a letter to manufacturers, distributors, importers and retailers today reinforcing CPSC staff’s enforcement policy on children’s sleepwear and loungewear.
bullet Petit Lem Children’s Pajamas Recalled Due to Violation of Federal Flammability Standard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Group Lemur Inc., of Montréal, Québec, is voluntarily recalling about 1,750 pairs of Children’s pajamas. The pajamas fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear posing a risk of burn injury to children.
bullet Children’s Robes Recalled by Hanna Andersson Due to Violation of the Federal Flammability Standard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Hanna Andersson, of Portland, Ore., is voluntarily recalling about 1,000 Children’s fleece robes. These children’s robes fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injury to children.
bullet Holiday Tree, Wreath and Garland Set Recalled by General Foam Plastic Corp. Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively at True Value Hardware Stores
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, General Foam Plastic Corp., of Norfolk, Va., is voluntarily recalling about 1,000 Brookfield Entry Way Tree Sets. The battery box that power lights on the artificial wreath can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
bullet Build-A-Bear Recalls Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears Due to Choking Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc., of St. Louis, Mo., is voluntarily recalling about 284,000 (in the United States) and 13,200 (in Canada) Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears. The teddy bear’s eyes could loosen and fall out, posing a choking hazard to children.
bullet BRP Recalls ATVs Due to Loss of Control Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, BRP US Inc., of Sturtevant, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 1,600 Can-Am ATVs. The Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) main shaft can crack and pieces can detach. Those pieces inside the DPS can block gears and cause limited steering ability, posing a loss of control hazard with risk of serious injury or death to the operator.
bullet Bugaboo Car Seat Adapter Recalled Due to Fall Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Bugaboo Americas, of El Segundo, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 64,000 Car Seat Adapters. When the adapter is used on a stroller that also has a wheeled board accessory attached for transporting a standing toddler, and the car seat is positioned so the child faces forward, the car seat can disconnect from the adapter and fall.
bullet Bugaboo Bee Strollers Recalled by Bugaboo Americas Due to Fall Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Bugaboo Americas, of El Segundo, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 7,000 (in the United States) and 260 (in Canada) Bugaboo Bee Strollers. The front swivel wheels can lock while the stroller is in motion, causing the stroller to tip and posing a fall hazard.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, BatteriesPlus LLC, of Hartland, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 111,800 Rayovac NI-CD Cordless Tool Battery Packs. The replacement battery pack can explode unexpectedly, posing a risk of serious injury to consumers.
bullet The Pampered Chef Recalls Ice Cream Dippers Due to Impact Injury Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, The Pampered Chef, of Addison, Ill., is voluntarily recalling about 20,000 Ice cream dippers. When the liquid-filled ice cream scoop is exposed to warm water, the cap and seal at the end of the scoop handle can fly off with substantial force, posing an impact injury hazard to nearby consumers.
bullet Naturalizer Recalls Women’s Dress Shoes Due to Fall Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Naturalizer, of St. Louis, Mo., is voluntarily recalling about 6,100 pairs (in the United States) and 700 pairs (in Canada) of Naturalizer “Dare” Women’s Dress Shoes. The heels of the shoes can lean to either side, posing a fall hazard when worn by consumers.
bullet E&B Giftware Agrees to $550,000 Civil Penalty for Failing to Report Defective Fitness Balls
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that it has reached a settlement with E&B Giftware LLC (E&B), of Yonkers, N.Y., resolving CPSC staff allegations that E&B failed to report a defect with its fitness balls.
bullet CPSC Announces ANPR for Gel Fuels, Firepots to Address Flash Fire, Burn Hazards
In an effort to prevent further injuries and deaths resulting from the use of gel fuels in firepots, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission voted (4-0) Friday to publish an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) aimed at improving the safety of gel fuels and firepots.
bullet Build-A-Bear Agrees to $600,000 Civil Penalty for Failing to Report Defective Toy Beach Chairs
The settlement resolves CPSC staff allegations that Build-A-Bear failed to immediately report a defect involving its toy bear beach chair that resulted in incidents and injuries to consumers. The sharp edges of the chair's folding wooden frame can pinch, lacerate or amputate a child's fingertip if the finger is caught between the frame as the chair is folded.
bullet Arctic Cat Recalls Snowmobiles Due to Crash Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Arctic Cat Inc., of Thief River Falls, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 7,100 Arctic Cat Snowmobiles. The headlamp fuse can fail, disorienting the operator during periods of limited visibility and posing a crash hazard.
bullet Toasters Recalled by Hamilton Beach Due to Fire Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Hamilton Beach Brands Inc., of Glen Allen, Va., is voluntarily recalling about 14,000 Hamilton Beach® classic chrome 2-slice toasters. When the toasters are first plugged into the outlets, the heating element can be energized although the toaster lifter is in the up or off position, which can pose a fire hazard if the toaster is near flammable items.
bullet E-Z-GO Recalls Golf Cars, Shuttles and Off-Road Utility Vehicles Due to Crash Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, E-Z-GO, a Textron Company, of Augusta, Ga., is voluntarily recalling about 21,900 TXT golf cars, Cushman shuttle vehicles and Bad Boy off-road utility vehicles. The threaded end of the rack rod ball joint can break and the ball joint can become displaced, causing the driver to lose steering control. This can result in a crash.
bullet Toys Distribution Inc. Recalls Rattles Due to Choking Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Toys Distribution Inc., of Los Angeles, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 50 baby rattles. The recalled rattles can break into small parts, posing a choking hazard to young children and violating the federal safety requirements for rattles. In addition, the size of the handle on some of the rattles is small enough to enter an infant's mouth, lodge in the throat and cause a choking hazard or lead to bruises and lacerations.
bullet Handheld Massagers Recalled by Fourstar Group Due to Burn Hazard from Leaking Batteries
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Fourstar Group USA Inc., of Bedford Heights, Ohio, is voluntarily recalling about 25,500 handheld massage pets. The massager's batteries can leak, posing a burn hazard or skin irritation to consumers.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Club Car LLC, of Augusta, Ga., is voluntarily recalling about 600 golf cars. The fuel tank seam can separate and allow fuel to leak, posing a fire hazard.
bullet Nautilus Recalls Schwinn Elliptical Exercise Equipment Due to Fall Hazard
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Nautilus Inc. of Vancouver, Wash., is voluntarily recalling about 10,000 elliptical exercise trainers. The foot plates can detach from the machine during use, posing a fall hazard.
bullet Halloween Projection Flashlights Recalled by Nygala Corp. Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Nygala Corp., of Teterboro, N.J., is voluntarily recalling about 10,000 Halloween Projection Flashlights. The flashlights can overheat, blister and melt, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
