CPSC Public Meeting: Lead

This meeting discussed the new Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) limits for lead in both substrate and paint as well as address some of the technical issues regarding meeting those lead limits. It also provided an opportunity for participants to share their views with Commission staff regarding the upcoming rulemakings on what product components, or classes of components, will be considered inaccessible to a child through ordinary use and abuse. The meeting asked participants to comment on whether it will be technologically feasible for certain electronic devices to meet the new lead limits.
