Fisher-Price Retira del Mercado Juguetes de Personajes Autorizados por Peligro de Envenenamiento con Plomo
WASHINGTON, D.C. - La U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (Comisión para la Seguridad de los Productos de Consumo de EE.UU. -- CPSC, según siglas en inglés), en cooperación con la empresa indicada a continuación, anunció hoy el retiro del mercado de los siguientes productos de consumo. Los consumidores deben dejar de usar inmediatamente los productos identificados a continuación a no ser que reciban instrucciones al contrario. Es ilegal el revender o intentar revender un producto de consumo que ha sido retirado del mercado.
Nombre de los Productos: "Sesame Street" (Plaza Sésamo), "Dora the Explorer" (Dora la Exploradora), y otros juguetes para niños
Unidades: Cerca de 967,000
Importador: Fisher-Price Inc., de East Aurora, N.Y.
Peligro: La pintura de la superficie de los juguetes puede contener niveles altos de plomo. El plomo es tóxico si es ingerido por los niños pequeños y puede causar efectos negativos a la salud.
Incidentes/Lesiones: No se ha reportado ninguno.
Descripción: El retiro del mercado involucra varias figuras y juguetes que fueron fabricados entre el 19 de abril del 2007 y el 6 de julio del 2007 y fueron vendidos individualmente o como parte de conjuntos. Los nombres de los modelos y los números de producto de los juguetes retirados del mercado, los cuales están identificados con "Fisher Price", están incluidos abajo. Los juguetes podrían tener un código de fecha entre 109-7LF y 187-7LF marcado en el producto o en el empaque.
Vendido en: Tiendas a través de todo el país desde mayo del 2007 y agosto del 2007 por entre $5 y $40.

Remedio: Los consumidores deben quitarle inmediatamente los juguetes retirados del mercado a los niños y comunicarse con Fisher-Price. Los consumidores tendrán que devolver el producto y recibirán un cupón para un juguete de reemplazo que escoja el consumidor (con el valor máximo del producto devuelto).

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is still interested in receiving incident or injury reports that are either directly related to this product recall or involve a different hazard with the same product. Please tell us about your experience with the product on SaferProducts.gov
CPSC is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of the thousands of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction. Deaths, injuries and property damage from consumer product incidents cost the nation more than $900 billion annually. CPSC is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical or mechanical hazard. CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products - such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters and household chemicals - contributed to a decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.
Federal law bars any person from selling products subject to a publicly-announced voluntary recall by a manufacturer or a mandatory recall ordered by the Commission.
